One of the most awe-inspiring things about being a photo
assistant here at Saberin Photography is seeing all of the hard work and raw
talent that goes into every single shoot we do. As the photo assistant, my jobs
vary from day to day, shoot to shoot. Sometimes I'll be needed to move lights
around, act as an additional stand for off camera flash, hold an umbrella,
gather props and wardrobes, and just generally assist in any way possible.

In the midst of the craziness and energy that comes from
shooting, sometimes I like to step back and just observe what is going on. Its
in these times that I like to capture the little, behind the scenes moments
that almost no one will ever see. The times where, when scouting a location,
Stephen hops up on the top rail overlooking the stream and precariously
balances on the edge to shoot the woods on the other side. Or the time when we
have a model in a fancy dress in our studio and he climbs to the top of a 10
foot ladder, juggling the camera with an 80-200 lens, to get that perfect angle
and perfect shot.
We have a saying here that defines us as a company:
“Whatever it takes”. The images we capture of all the behind the scenes
outlandishness definitely prove that no matter what it takes, we will make it
happen.
